1.Title

The Club shall be named the Wellington Ski Club, hereinafter named the Club.

2.Purpose and Aims

The objects of the Club are to encourage the sport of skiing as a pastime and to promote this development in a manner where it would be practical to provide lectures, instructions, demonstrations, periodical meetings and arrange outings and social events for its members.

3.Constitution

The Club shall consist of adult members, 16 years of age and over, family members, honorary members and office bearers. Office bearers of the Club shall be the President, Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer.

4.Qualification and Election of Members

The Club shall be open to all amateur skiers. Candidates who seek membership to the Club must be proposed and seconded by a member and be in a position to pay the annual subscription.

5.Election of Committee

The office bearers and members of the committee shall be elected at the Annual General Meeting. Office bearers e.g. President, Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and Committee Members will be elected to hold office for a period of one year. They shall be eligible for re-election. Excepting the President, no member shall hold office for more than one year.
The Committee shall consist of the President, Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and eight (8) members.. Five (5) members of the Committee shall be a quorum. In the case of the Chairman being absent from the meeting, the Committee shall appoint a temporary Chairman to conduct the business on hand.

6.Sub Committees

The Committee shall have the power to appoint a Sub-Committee for the purpose of organising club functions, outings and other special purpose.

7.Subscriptions

The annual subscriptions shall be agreed annually and as shown on the current membership form. Any member who has failed to pay his/her subscription after one month within the due date shall forfeit his/her membership.

8.Resignations

Any member wishing to resign either the Club or the Committee may do so by giving notice in writing to the Honorary Secretary.

9.Expulsion

The Committee shall have the power, if unanimous and providing all members of the Committee are present, to expel a member without assigning a reason to the members.

10.Privileges

Every member of the Club shall be entitled to attend all meetings of the Club and to vote at all general meetings, vote at all general meetings, take part in all Club activities, use the Club venue and wear the Club badge when available. Club badges are the property of the Club and should not be given to a non-member. Any member who has resigned from the Club is not entitled to wear a club badge.

11.Annual General Meeting

The annual General Meeting of the Club shall take place in October when a statement of the accounts for the preceding year shall be laid before the meeting by the Treasurer. A program for the coming season shall be drawn up and suggestions put forward for outings, meetings and social events. Notification of proposed amendments must be in the hands of the Secretary fourteen (14) days before the meeting.

12.Operation of Rules

Operations and additions to the laws of the Club may be made from time to time with the approval of the Committee and members. Notification of proposed amendments must be in the hands of the Secretary fourteen (14) days before the meeting.

13.Freedom of Liability to Members

Any skier who becomes a member of the Club does so at their own risk, and shall have no claim against the club or its office bearers or members in respect of any loss, damage or injury whatsoever.

14.Actions on behalf of the Club

Any actions taken on behalf of the Club must have the approval of the committee otherwise the Club will not, in any way, accept responsibility for such action.

15.National Governing Body

The Club will be an active member of Snowsport Scotland, the national governing body, through which all members will be insured accordingly. Further details can be obtained from the Club secretary.
